The University Driver is responsible for safely transporting students faculty staff and visitors to various locations as needed ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and university policies. This position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient transportation services that support the universitys operations and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate university vehicles including vans buses and other transport vehicles to provide safe and timely transportation services.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while being flexible to accommodate changes in transportation needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections report any mechanical issues and ensure vehicles remain clean and in good condition.
- Assist passengers with boarding seating and exiting vehicles as needed ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate trip logs mileage records and fuel usage reports while adhering to all university and state driving regulations.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all passengers responding to inquiries and assisting with directions when necessary.
- Act quickly and effectively in the event of vehicle breakdowns accidents or medical emergencies following university protocols.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of professional driving experience preferred.
- Valid state-issued drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
