Job Description

Title: International Travel Coordinator (Part-time)

Location: Washington D.C.

Security Clearance: Moderate Background Investigation (MBI)

Compensation: Approximately $45 / Hour

Schedule: Due to the nature of law enforcement work and operation position may require occasional support outside of core working hours as well as intermittent weekend support mission dependent.

Job Summary:

The International Travel Program provides travel document service including Official Passports and Visas security support to USPS travelers through administration of Department of State mandated medical and security evacuation insurance and guidance regarding IT security. The analyst will provide day to day service to all international travelers needs and handle daily administrative tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • International Travel Coordination - Provides guidance for trip planning assists international travelers with questions and/or concerns with international travel. Performs research and provides answers related to international travel. Responds and attends to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Engages with executive sponsor of the International Travel Program to ensure approval is granted prior to official international travel along with fulfilment of post-travel e-Travel requirements. Ensures international travelers have completed all travel requirements prior to travel. Ensures each international traveler has familiarization with and has registered for the medical evacuation insurance known as Global Rescue. Maintains a tracking system for all registered insured personnel. Extends support and guidance to IS and Postal Service international travelers relating to cyber threats and international VPN and phone service. Navigates e-country clearance system to ensure compliance with State Department regulations. Guarantees continuous attention is provided to travelers where defensive counterintelligence briefings are mandatory prior to travel and retain confirmation once completed. Responsible for the maintenance and custody of all issued Official Passports. Ensures the documentation relating to the issuance of each Official Passport is recorded for data integrity. Ensures signatories and couriers are current with the Special Issuance Agency to maintain expeditious issuance of passports and other travel-related accountable documentation.
  • Program Support - Maintain the Global Security intranet web page and all necessary associated forms to provide the most up to date messaging to IS international travelers. Support the drafting of SOPs process flows and the development of the Global Security Strategy Plan.
  • Liaison - The analyst will be expected to liaison with the USPS Travel Coordinator members of the Passport Agency foreign embassies the State Department and interface with USPIS/USPS international travelers. The position will require local travel to the SIA and embassies on behalf of international travelers.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of five years of work experience demonstrating the ability to operate under pressure. Experience in a Federal Law Enforcement Agency environment and coordinating international travel highly desired.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare correspondence and country clearance requests;
  • Ability to conduct security or intelligence briefings for international travelers as needed and be able to provide appropriate travel warnings and embassy contact information;
  • Ability to compile data provide detailed reports and narratives for year-end reports;
  • Ability to keep apprised of worldwide events to identify potential risks and give appropriate advice to international travelers accordingly;
  • Ability to organize maintain and track various sources of data/information;
  • Knowledge of law enforcement policies and procedures;
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks/projects related to international travel under time constraints

Clearance:

Applicants selected may be subject to a government background investigation and may be required to meet the following conditions of employment.

Security Requirements/Background Investigation Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
  • Favorable credit check for all cleared positions
  • Successfully passing a background investigation including drug screening.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees. Standing for prolonged and extended periods of time.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time.
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time.
  • Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
  • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
