Job Summary

Position Purpose:

The Director Human Resources guides and manages the Human Resources activities of the organization including services policies and programs.  The Director Human Resources is also responsible for the area of safety for the company.  This position is directly responsible for HR at both IDI in Richmond and DL in Montreal Canada.  Other duties in support of the SVP HR for the North American organization will be assigned as needed. 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for directing coordinating and/or conducting activities in the following areas:

  • Recruiting and staffing
  • Organizational and space planning
  • Performance management systems
  • Organization development
  • Developing and implementing the Training Plan
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns
  • Employee orientation development and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations
  • Compensation and benefits administration including Salary Review
  • Employee safety and health
  • Succession planning
  • Reporting to the home office
  • Supervising reception and mail room activities
  • Reporting to the home office
  • Originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment quality productivity and standards goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
  • Coordinates implementation of services policies and programs through Human Resources staff reports to the SVP Human Resources serves on the executive management team and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues. 
  • Primary objectives include the safety of the workforce development of the workforce and activities of the HR Department. 
  • This position will support the organization in completing all aspects of the Degremont HR Wheel.

Note:

  • Position can be Remote in the state of California only.
  • Position will require occasional travel.

Qualifications :

Education/Experience/Background:

  • 5 years experience in safety management preferred.
  • 10 years experience in increasing roles in HR and HR management.
  • Bachelors degree in HR or related field.  MBA or appropriate masters degree preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Capable of working independently multi-tasking and organizing.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • PHR or SPHR preferred.

Additional Information :

Pay Range: $160000 to $175000 Per Year.
