About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical trainee actuary to join our dynamic team. The role will provide valuable actuarial experience into reinsurance and acquisitions of life insurance portfolios. You will support the day to day tasks of the group actuarial team. The role will involve supporting the financial reporting process due diligence on pending acquisitions and participating in various group strategic projects.

Assist the team in the financial reporting across multiple bases for management accounts;
Support quarterly reserving processes including data analysis and preparation of actuarial reports;
Perform reconciliations and validate the accuracy of data used in reserving models;
Assist in the production of high quality MI;
Contribute to the production of year end actuarial reports and other regulatory submissions to the Bermuda Monetary Authority;
Assist in the production of business planning projections experience analysis and associated reporting;
Provide actuarial support to other departments particularly Finance and Risk;
Help to maintain robust stable and auditable systems for calculating the required reserves and capital figures.
Support as required Group strategic activity.

Proficient in Excel and knowledge of actuarial software (Prophet) is an advantage;
Coding experience in Python or willingness to learn is highly desirable;
Proven ability to learn new concepts;
Exhibits self-motivation and drive;
Team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn;
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills;
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
