Working to the protect the states environment and heritage.
Greater Sydney Biodiversity Certification Team within Regional Delivery are looking for an EO9 Senior Conservation Planning Officer.

- Temporary full-time opportunity to 30 September 2026
- Office location Parramatta or other locations by negotiation hybrid working supported
- Salary relative to experience and ranges from $124322 to $138494 super
- Do you want to work in a supportive work environment with multi - disciplinary people providing expert advice to support environmental and sustainability outcomes for biodiversity certification in Greater Sydney
As part of this role you will deliver accurate and timely advice to inform decision making and to advance environmental conservation and sustainability outcomes and provide advice to the State and Local Government. You will work collaboratively across DCCEEW and government with respect to the monitoring and implementation of the CPCP and Growth Centres certifications and will lead aspects of the assessment and review of strategic biodiversity certification applications including major and technically complex projects.
About You
- Strong knowledge of relevant environment and planning legislation.
- Experience in implementing legislation policy and programs in relation to environment and conservation with an understanding of the workings of government at a state and local level.
- Demonstrated experience in program delivery stakeholder collaboration and negotiation to facilitate effective outcomes.
- Strong working knowledge of the Biodiversity Offset Scheme and Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM)
- Demonstrated experience in the review of biodiversity impacts associated with major projects and planning proposals.
- Degree in Planning environmental science or management natural resource management or equivalent.
