Shift: Full Time/Monday-Friday

The Registered Nurse (Clinic) is supervised by the Manager Outpatient Nursing Services Psychiatry and provides care to clients utilizing the Robert Young Center principles of Trauma Informed Care. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides mental health assessment intervention and consultation to individuals identified as having psychiatric disorders; plans treatment modalities coordinates treatment plans and follow clients through the treatment process. The RN functions as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) according to the Illinois Register Department of Healthcare and Family Services 89 Ill. Adm. Code 140 may provide supervision to Mental Health Professionals (MHP) and may train students assigned in the department. The RN delivers customer service and works cooperatively with other departments. The RN provides crisis intervention maintains accurate clinical documentation and demonstrates UPHs principles and values when interacting with clients families visitors physicians and coworkers.

• Assures that all clients receive clinically sound triage/referral and ongoing care for behavioral health needs.
• Collects information and communicates medication refill requests and client problems to the prescriber.
• Evaluates the clients treatment plan through follow-up assessment and recommends adjustments based on clinical findings.
• Utilizes a holistic approach to determine teaching methods appropriate to the individual client.
• Provides psycho-education to clients and families regarding their illness medications and/or treatment plan to supplement information provided by health care professionals.

Education:

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
