The Position
As an experienced associate in RSMs growing Risk Consulting Practice you will have the opportunity to develop into a seasoned consultant through a high degree of client and financial services industry exposure career development and mentorship opportunities and a diverse and inclusive culture. In this role you may be asked to demonstrate a willingness and ability to:
- Learn about the financial services industry and clients that we serve in the middle market and leverage your understanding to become your clients trusted advisor
- Interact with client process owners and external stakeholders while executing your role
- Demonstrate critical thinking skill in gathering and processing information about a clients business strategy culture competitive positioning and operations in order to assist with risk assessment
- Prepare initial drafts and follow-ups on client request lists
- Draft narratives or flowcharts and perform initial identification of controls
- Conduct tests of the operating effectiveness of clients internal controls using test plans or work programs that have been written by senior members of the team
- Identify issues in the testing performed such as deficiencies observations and recommendations
- Understand the purpose and objectives of internal/external project status updates and provide relevant inputs
- Proactively make oneself aware of white papers webinars and live events that are available to clients
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting or related business discipline
- Ability to travel to meet client needs and work collaboratively with others in-person and remotely
- Openness to workday flexibility agility remote work environment leveraging new tools
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Effective time management and prioritization skills

At RSM an employees pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including but not limited to education skills work experience certifications location etc. As such pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
