Senior Hardware Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hardware Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing efficient hardware solutions delivering high-quality designs and ensuring seamless integration with the software development team in the field of industrial process addition your expertise in embedded software will be crucial for optimizing and maintaining our hardware systems.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Manage complex hardware development projects ensuring compliance with product requirements quality standards and safety regulations.
Support the entire hardware development lifecycle from analyzing customer requirements to implementation testing validation and maintenance of existing systems including embedded systems.
Lead project teams make key design decisions and ensure the delivery of robust and efficient hardware solutions.
Resolve complex industrial challenges address issues raised by customers and suppliers and select suitable technologies components and methods for new hardware designs.
Collaborate closely with the software development team to ensure smooth integration between hardware and software components.

Qualifications for the role

A completed university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in hardware design and at least 3 years of experience in software development ideally in R&D for industrial automation. Strong programming skills in C/C Assembly and scripting languages are an advantage.
Familiarity with software IDEs and debuggers as well as hardware measurement equipment.
Fluent in German and business-proficient in English both written and spoken.
Experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols (e.g. PROFINET Modbus TCP) hardware-related software architectures and operating systems is a plus.
Ability to collaborate effectively with external stakeholders.
