Job Summary
Job Title: Safety & Security Officer
Location: Newark Wayne Hospital
Schedule:Days and Weekends (cover off shifts as needed)
SUMMARY:
As a Security Officer you patrol and protect the facility grounds and building to preserve the peace and make employees feel safe and secure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigation & Safety - Investigate cases of detected or reported criminal and safety matters; identify and report real or potential hazards in the environment; transfer and discharge patients as requested.
- Parking Management - Monitor and control hospital employee and visitor parking areas.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- NYS Security Guard Act License (OR) Registered as a Police or Peace Officer in NYS and required to obtain NYS Security Guard Act License within 3 months of hire.
- Valid NYS Drivers license.
- CPR certification New hires or obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Preventing Managing Crisis Situation Training (PMCS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
- One year of guard or public safety experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated professionalism.
- Ability to think quickly and make decisive judgments.
- Ability to remain calm in high stress situations.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.

$21.00 - $23.00CITY:

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
