Job Description

Job Title: MS Access Data Migration Architect (Azure SQL SSIS VBA Healthcare) need 15 plus years of exp

Location: Austin Tx (Hybrid -Local to Austin Tx)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Proven experience in designing developing and maintaining advanced MS Access databases including creation of normalized tables sophisticated queries data entry forms and comprehensive reports.
  • Expert-level knowledge of relational database design normalization ER modeling schema refactoring and translating Access data models into scalable SQL schemas.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Access including table design complex queries forms reports and leveraging VBA for custom functionalities and workflow automation.
  • Experience with migrating legacy databases into cloud SQL services such as Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance PostgreSQL AWS RDS for SQL Server/MySQL.
  • ETL experience with tools like SSIS Azure Data Factory AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or equivalent.
  • Skilled in creating migration runbooks data dictionaries technical documentation and delivering training or knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Experience with RDBMS admin/console tools such as TOAD SSMS and/or SQL Developer.
  • Experience configuring data integration and batch processing solutions in Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS monitoring data ingestion processes reviewing query plans and identifying performance issues.
  • Experience migrating data from legacy databases to new target databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodologies GitHub and JIRA.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or public health projects.
  • Experience implementing and using agile methodologies and best practices for one or more State of Texas Agencies.
Responsibilities
  • Design develop and maintain MS Access databases to meet business requirements.
  • Translate Access data models into scalable SQL schemas and optimize database performance.
  • Develop complex queries forms and reports and leverage VBA for workflow automation.
  • Migrate legacy databases to cloud SQL services and ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Configure and monitor data integration and batch processing solutions using ETL tools.
  • Prepare migration runbooks technical documentation and deliver training sessions.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to implement best practices in database design administration and reporting.
  • Support CI/CD processes version control and Agile development initiatives.
  • Assist in data visualization reporting and providing insights to stakeholders.
