Job Description and Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for collecting metal pieces from a moving conveyor belt to ensure all debris is efficiently removed. You will also maintain a clean and organized environment around the yard. Additionally you will support the shredder mechanics by assisting with the replacement of conveyors and bearing shafts as well as performing routine greasing to ensure smooth operation. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively will enhance the overall maintenance and efficiency of our operations.
Keeps the work area clean and ready to go daily
Keeps conveyor pulleys clean
Picks copper to ensure that quality material is shipped to our customers
Report any issues that arise immediately
Assists in meeting monthly production goals
Requirements
High School diploma or CAEC/GED or must pass a company comprehension assessment
Must have reliable transportation as the work site is not accessible by public transit
Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing walking sitting climbing crawling kneeling bending moderate to heavy lifting and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions including hot dry summer conditions and cold harsh winter conditions
Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust odors fumes and noise
Ability to learn and follow directions
Mechanically inclined
Self-motivated: Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
Strong work ethic: uses time efficiently works safely and makes sure everyone around him is working safely
Strong command of the English language both written and spoken
Able to communicate clearly including using a handheld radio
