Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with practice leaders to gain in-depth understanding of the financial performance of the practice and provide timely and relevant information to the Director Financial Planning & Analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst builds and maintains annual budgets and rolling forecasts performs monthly variance analysis and drives process automation to enhance accuracy speed and insight. The analyst collaborates closely with Accounting and Operations to ensure the integrity of the P&L.


The Senior Finance Analyst will:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Prepare annual budgets in partnership with the business and operations.

  • Maintain rolling monthly/quarterly forecasts; quantify budget gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Monthly Results Variance & Performance Management

  • Lead monthend review with Accounting; investigate material variances across revenue and expense lines.

  • Compile findings and provide clear MTD/YTD commentary against budget and forecast for monthly financial packages.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of P&L including review of corporate accounting entries.


Revenue Operations & Variable Compensation

  • Review client revenue detail for accuracy and completeness.

  • Track new sales against consultant targets and prepare variable compensation and commission calculations for internal consultants.

New Business / Termination Tracking

  • Ensure implementations (new business) terminations (lost business) and businessatrisk are accurately captured in the detailed client analysis files.

  • Reconcile significant differences between cash received and sales implementation amounts (expectations); escalate issues as needed.


Reporting Dashboards & Presentations

  • Update and publish monthly Excel tables/dashboards (MTD/YTD results terminations new business).

  • Prepare month-end materials for monthly reviews with practice leaders.

To be successful as a Senior Finance Analyst at People Corporation you will need:

  • CPA designation with 5 years of progressive experience in Finance/FP&A preferably in services environments.

  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas large datasets modeling); strong PowerPoint; exposure to BI tools (e.g. Power BI) an asset.

  • Strong analytical rigor with the ability to translate data into insights and action.

  • Excellent time management and commitment to deadlines in a fastpaced evolving environment.

  • Adaptable actively embraces and manages change; Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.

  • Clear concise written and verbal communication; able to present to various levels of management.

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a bias for ownership and continuous improvement.
