This Position reports to:
R&D Team LeadYour Role and Responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABBs success with technology software product and system development. Each day you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team
In this role youll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact as you will be accountable for:
Design develop and test firmware for industrial protection devices and communication modules.
Collaborate with global teams to define firmware requirements and share technical expertise.
Drive continuous improvement in firmware development and cybersecurity practices.
Contribute to intellectual property creation and patent protection for ABB.
Qualifications for the Role
You are highly skilled in C/C/Python/assembler backed by solid computer science fundamentals.
You have solid knowledge in structured development processes ranging from requirement analysis design and implementation to test and documentation.
You have at least 3 years of experience in designing firmware development for embedded industrial applications based on microcontrollers/microprocessors.
Possess an enhanced knowledge of development infrastructure: Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines version control systems (git) lifecycle management build systems unit testing debug probes oscilloscopes and similar tools.
Exposure to Cyber Security concepts and knowledge of main industrial communication protocols (Modbus Profinet Ethernet/IP IEC61850 Profibus CAN bus) are a plus.
You are passionate about team working and innovation.
