Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Network Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in network infrastructure troubleshooting and support. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field and is eager to learn in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time paid internship working with a large industrial construction company based out of Raleigh NC. Dates for internship are May 18th - July 31st.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help document network configurations diagrams and procedures.
- Participate in network upgrades installations and patching activities.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network systems including switches routers firewalls and wireless access points.
- Support the IT team in troubleshooting network issues and resolving connectivity problems.
- Assist with user support requests related to network access and performance.
- Learn and apply basic network security principles and practices.
- Collaborate with team members on IT projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Associates program in IT Computer Science or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP LAN/WAN).
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with network tools such as Wireshark SolarWinds or similar.
- Exposure to Cisco Meraki or other networking equipment.
