Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Network Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in network infrastructure troubleshooting and support. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field and is eager to learn in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time paid internship working with a large industrial construction company based out of Raleigh NC. Dates for internship are May 18th - July 31st.

Key Responsibilities:

Help document network configurations diagrams and procedures.
Participate in network upgrades installations and patching activities.
Assist in monitoring and maintaining network systems including switches routers firewalls and wireless access points.
Support the IT team in troubleshooting network issues and resolving connectivity problems.
Assist with user support requests related to network access and performance.
Learn and apply basic network security principles and practices.
Collaborate with team members on IT projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Associates program in IT Computer Science or a related field.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP LAN/WAN).
Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with network tools such as Wireshark SolarWinds or similar.
Exposure to Cisco Meraki or other networking equipment.
