Offered Position: System Development Engineer III
Job Location: Arlington Virginia

Position Responsibilities:
Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient. Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers. Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization. Propose architect drive and implement complex technical solutions for automation efficiency and
scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window Linux or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases. Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.
Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered as a Software Developer or a related occupation. Must have five (5) years of experience in the following skills: 1) with systems design and software development operations automation and process improvement; 2) designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems; 3) deploying and operating in a Linux or Unix environment; and 4) programming with at least one modern language such as C C# Java Python Golang Ruby or related.
