SUMMARY:
The Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist (Instructional Coach) provides targeted support to family childcare homes and childcare centers contracted with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County. The TA Specialist is an experienced highly trained coach certified in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) tool and the practice based coaching model. The TA Specialist provides training and on-site technical assistance/coaching to help improve program quality to increases positive child outcomes. The TA Specialist travels throughout Palm Beach County to provide onsite coaching to teachers in their classroom as well as provide trainings in-person and virtually.
HOURS:
This position is designated as Telecommute. This position may require 80% or more local daily travel throughout Palm Beach County to Palm Beach County offices or other locations for meetings trainings or other required duties. Business hours at the Boynton location are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Longer hours evenings and weekends may be necessary on occasion.
PAY RATE: up to$60000 commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets program data to help childcare providers improve their classroom practice.
- Manages schedule works independently communicates effectively orally and in writing understands and implements procedures and practices and demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in their work.
- Provides coaching/technical assistance to early childhood programs to set realistic goals and objectives that support quality improvement.
- Provides a minimum number of hours monthly of onsite coaching to childcare providers assigned.
- Markets coaching/technical assistance to all childcare providers. Supports childcare providers in developing improvement plans based on recent CLASS assessment scores program goals focusing on all core quality building blocks.
- Tracks data for reporting related to training and/or coaching. Documents all related coaching/technical assistance work into the statewide information system and/or WELS system.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree (B.A.) in Education Early Childhood Education Child Development Health and Human Services or related field from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
- Three years of technical assistance coaching and/or training or related experience is required.
- Five years of experience with Early Education is required.
- Demonstrated ability in techniques used to train teach coach and provide hands on assistance to others.
- Knowledge of or prior experience utilizing the CLASS Assessment Tools preferred.
