You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Sustaining Operations Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability performance and continuous improvement of our production systems and products. This position focuses on problem resolution root cause analysis and preventive maintenance to support sustainable operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions optimize system performance and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze production and operational systems to identify issues and drive resolution.
Conduct root cause investigations using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D RCA) and implement corrective actions.
Perform system health checks preventive maintenance and performance tuning to prevent recurrence of issues.
Collaborate with engineering quality assurance and customer support teams to triage and resolve reported issues.
Develop maintain and update documentation including standard operating procedures knowledge base articles and technical runbooks.
Support release management and software or hardware updates in production environments with minimal downtime.
Participate in on-call rotations providing timely response and resolution during off-hours.
Train and mentor junior staff on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
Identify and drive improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing system reliability efficiency and scalability.
Liaise with external vendors and service providers to escalate and resolve third-party issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Systems or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
2 years of experience in sustaining engineering operations support or related technical roles.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; experienced in root cause analysis methodologies.
Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk Nagios Datadog) and incident management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow Jira).
Familiarity with software development and version control tools such as Git.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to multitask prioritize effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if required.
Hourly Pay Rate
$45.00 - $55.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
