Job Description
Dedicated to creating experiences our guestsand team membersare amazed by Stanleys Bar and Grill at the Stanley Park Pavilion is looking for anenergeticand engaged host or hostess. Within walking distance of Vancouvers vibrant West End neighborhood as well as many of the citys top tourist destinationsthere is never a dull day at this beautiful heritage location. If you are passionate aboutquality food and beverage serviceorganizationandenjoy working on a team in a customer facing positionwe would love to hear from you.
The Stanleys Bar and Grill Host(ess) is part of the team responsible for excellent guest service. Main duties include welcoming seating assisting the serving team and bussing tables.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile
- Accurately take Guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation
- Assist serving team when necessary by taking drink orders and running food
- Maintain glassware and cutlery
- Clean floors walls counters windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas
- Maintain a positive team-oriented work environment
- Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
- Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
- Take reasonable care to protect your own co-workers and Guests health and safety
- Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
- Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other persons safety is not impaired by alcohol drugs or other causes
Qualifications:
- Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat attitude
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
