VDC Technician

The VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation of digital construction tools and methodologies. This role is essential in ensuring that design and construction projects leverage technology to optimize planning design quality and execution processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed 3D models and simulations for construction projects ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with Design and Construction staff as well as other VDC team members to integrate VDC tools and practices into project workflows.
• Organize update and manage construction-related data ensuring it is accurate and accessible to project stakeholders using BIM tools.
• Conduct quality checks and assist in validating models to ensure they meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for VDC software and hardware ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in VDC technology and methodologies contributing to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and convey technical information clearly.
• High attention to detail to ensure precision in model creation and data management.

Education/Experience:

• An associate degree or certification in architecture engineering construction management or a related field is typically required.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or architectural industry is desirable.
• Working knowledge of VDC and BIM software such as Revit Navisworks AutoCAD and other relevant platforms.

Travel Requirements:

• Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs to attend meetings trainings and events.â
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.â
• Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.â

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to use a computer phone printer scanner and other office and field equipment.
• Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use
• Ability to lift carry and move up to 25 pounds of files documents equipment and materials.
