Job Summary

The Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Human Resource Generalist. JOB GOAL:To assist the Director of Human Resources with tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the human resources of school district.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop and maintain spreadsheets databases and all HR systems related to employee hiring retention certification licensure and all other aspects of the employment process except for the administration of payroll.
  2. Assist and train employees and administrators in navigation of the HR systems.
  3. Serve as the primary liaison with employees regarding certification and licensure issues.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of technology solutions for the HR Department.
  5. Coordinate and process entry into the system of new employees removal of departing employees and transfer of existing employees linking to the budget where necessary.
  6. Responsible for managing and updating employee data in MUNIS including but not limited to master screen accruals and deductions.
  7. Develop job descriptions and postings at the direction of the Director in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements and district policies.
  8. Oversee the maintenance of confidential files including all district employee personnel and medical files.
  9. Complete and file reports and surveys required or requested by state and federal law relating to human resources including but not limited to EPIMS EEO-5 Bureau of Labor Statistics Department of Labor Civil Service etc.
  10. Generate reports analyze data and statistical information regarding personnel and applicants as requested by the Director.
  11. Assist Director in the recruitment of qualified staff for the district performing analysis of needs and trends.
  12. Responsible for processing and securing SAFIS fingerprint data.
  13. Maintain database and process all necessary documents for civil service/labor service hiring.
  14. Work with Benefits Coordinator regarding benefits for school employees.
  15. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Administrator or Superintendent.
REPORTS TO: Director of Human ResourcesTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year with personal services agreement.EVALUATION: Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Westfield School Committees policy on evaluation.RECOMMENDED SALARY: To be determined commensurate with knowledge and Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer
