Job Summary
Summary
Responsible for managing a team of social workers inclusive of daily operations clinical supervision and administrative support. The Social Work Manger is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and social work collaboration with other healthcare professionals to address the psychosocial needs of individuals and families. The Social Work Manager plays an integral role in program development advancing quality initiatives and contributing to strategic planning efforts to elevate the scope of social work services that deliver the highest level of impact and value.
Essential Functions
- Establish/support a social work clinical escalation pathway to be utilized by social work staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team when social work leadership intervention is needed.
- Conduct social work staff meetings on a regular cadence that includes overview of performance metrics at least quarterly incorporates community partner engagement to support care progression and discharge planning and reinforces hospital goals and priorities and the departments role in achieving them.
- Oversee the coordination of clinical social work services ensuring timely and appropriate social work interventions.
- Evaluates and advances opportunities for social work program growth quality improvement and alignment with broader hospital initiatives.
- Attend daily hospital safety huddle.
- Manage daily social work operations inclusive of staffing/time off requests and payroll support.
Responsible for generating and reviewing weekly productivity reports for all social work staff identifying trends related to service line engagement patient acuity and staffing gaps to inform operational planning and resource allocation.
- Responsible for Social Work Administrator On-Call duties during the afterhours weekends and holidays. This responsibility is part of a calendar rotation.
- Responsible for social work recruitment social work hiring onboarding and orientation.
- Responsible for completing annual performance evaluations for all social work staff inclusive of per-diems and the Addiction Recovery Patient Navigator.
- Oversees staff performance addressing areas of concern providing coaching and implementing performance improvement plans as needed to ensure high quality social work practice.
- Support and participate in ongoing efforts to provide opportunities for social work clinical education and professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned
