As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Amazons Project Kuiper you will drive complex technical programs from concept to launch with specific focus on managing the space simulation laboratory equipment and infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineering teams product managers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that meet customer needs and advance Kuipers satellite testing capabilities.
Key job responsibilities
Program Management
Lead cross-functional technical programs through the full development lifecycle
Create and maintain program roadmaps timelines and dependencies
Identify and mitigate risks resolve blockers and communicate status to stakeholders
Drive technical decision-making processes and facilitate trade-off discussions
Develop metrics to measure program success and operational health
Document technical requirements and ensure alignment across teams
Manage scope and prioritize features based on business impact
Laboratory Equipment Management
Oversee the procurement installation and maintenance of specialized equipment for the space simulation laboratory
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and integration of simulation hardware
Develop and implement processes for equipment calibration certification and compliance with aerospace testing standards
Manage the laboratory expansion roadmap to accommodate new satellite testing requirements
Create and maintain documentation for laboratory equipment procedures and safety protocols
Environmental Test Chamber Implementation
Lead the end-to-end installation process for environmental test chambers including thermal vacuum chambers and vibration tables
Develop detailed bring-up plans for each test chamber with clear milestones dependencies and acceptance criteria
Coordinate facility modifications required for test chamber installation including power cooling and structural requirements
Manage vendor relationships during installation commissioning and qualification phases of environmental test equipment
Create and implement test protocols to validate chamber performance against specifications
Establish operational procedures and training programs for test chamber usage
Develop maintenance schedules and calibration protocols to ensure continuous operational readiness
Strategic Planning & Process Improvement
Scope and define future laboratory expansion projects to increase testing throughput and quality
Analyze current testing bottlenecks and develop data-driven proposals for capacity improvements
Create business cases for new equipment investments based on throughput requirements and ROI analysis
Design and implement process improvements to increase test efficiency and reduce cycle time
Develop automation strategies to enhance test repeatability and data quality
Establish quality metrics and implement continuous improvement methodologies for test operations
Collaborate with engineering teams to anticipate future testing needs based on product roadmap
Research emerging test technologies and methodologies to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities

- 3 years of team management experience
- 3 years of program or project management experience
- 3 years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3 years of delivering cross functional projects experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience in data mining data management reporting and SQL queries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $163100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
