POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports To: RCM Director& CEO

Leads a team focused on patient financial services following claim adjudication. Ensures patients receive clear compassionate guidance on remaining balances payment options and account resolution. Oversees outreach billing communications and dispute handling while maintaining compliance and supporting financial performance. Fosters a service-driven environment that builds trust and enhances both patient satisfaction and organizational outcomes.

What Youll Do:

Patient Financial Services Operations

  • Manage patient billing inquiries payment plans and financial assistance programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of patient payments and adjustments.
  • Monitor patient accounts for outstanding balances and initiate collection efforts.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA HITECH and state/federal billing regulations.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for patient financial interactions.
  • Implement policies to protect patient financial data and privacy.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise financial services staff ensuring effective performance and service delivery.
  • Provide training coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a patient-centered culture focused on empathy accuracy and transparency.

Technology & Systems

  • Utilize EHR and billing platforms (ModMed EMA Klara).
  • Collaborate with IT and RCM teams to resolve system issues and improve workflows.
  • Maintain documentation for financial procedures and system use.

Patient Experience & Advocacy

  • Serve as a liaison between patients and billing departments.
  • Resolve escalated patient concerns regarding financial matters.
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage billing processes and available resources.

What Were Looking For:

  • Strong understanding of patient billing insurance processes and financial counseling.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and billing platforms (ModMed EMA Klara).
  • Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive financial conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and patient rights.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business or related field (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in patient financial services or medical billing.
  • 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in dermatology or multi-specialty practices is a plus
