Reports to: Principal / Office Manager
Position Summary:
The School Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students families visitors and staff. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment providing excellent customer service and supporting the efficient operation of the school office.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Visitor Management
- Greet and assist students parents staff and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer screen and direct phone calls; take accurate messages as needed.
- Manage visitor sign-in/out procedures and issue visitor badges.
- Monitor security protocols for entry into the building.
Administrative Support
- Assist with correspondence filing copying scanning and data entry.
- Maintain student attendance records and issue tardy/early dismissal passes.
- Distribute mail packages and school communications.
- Support staff with scheduling room reservations and general office tasks.
Communication
- Serve as a liaison between families and school staff directing inquiries appropriately.
- Share school announcements and reminders with clarity and professionalism.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Operational Support
- Assist with preparation of school events forms and communications.
- Maintain an organized welcoming front office space.
- Provide emergency support including contacting parents/guardians and coordinating with staff as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred).
- Prior experience in an office customer service or school setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and ability to learn school information systems.
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Friendly professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time (Tues/Thurs/Fri during school hours). Summer hours (Tues/Wed/Thurs 9-1)
- Requires sitting standing and light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Frequent interaction with students parents and staff in a busy office environment.
Must be a faithfully practicing Catholic
