About the team

Zillows Comprehensive Customer Data team is part of the Data Engineering organization and works closely with multiple product and analytics organizations. You will contribute to the design and implementation of data engineering solutions that support AI Marketing and Data Science teams in their effort to improve Zillows products for customers.

El Grupo Zillow tiene un enfoque renovado en aumentar el número de usuarios que realizan transacciones (compra venta o alquiler de una vivienda) a través de los servicios de ZG. Para servir mejor a nuestros clientes tenemos que entenderlos mejor y saber en qué punto del proceso de compra venta o alquiler de una vivienda se encuentran. Por lo tanto se ha puesto en marcha una iniciativa para realizar un mejor seguimiento del recorrido del cliente. Para que esta iniciativa tenga éxito es fundamental conocer los datos de los clientes y acceder a ellos en el momento oportuno.

Este equipo está construyendo capacidades de autoservicio que buscan proporcionar los medios para agregar transformar y enriquecer los datos de los clientes proporcionando en última instancia acceso a los datos a través de almacenamiento offline streaming y online para ser utilizados con diversos fines analíticos y de IA/ML.

About the role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the team you will :

• Design implement and take ownership of mission-critical data pipelines and data products
• Collaborate with various internal teams (platform product other stakeholders) to scope and deliver tools ensuring ease of system use
• Carefully review specifications designs pull requests and provide constructive/helpful feedback.
• Write high-quality code refactor and optimize code for better scalability performance and readability.
• Integrate new frameworks libraries technologies and components into codebase.
• Proactively log/collect and review metrics monitor alert and address issues quickly.
• Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications adhering to standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
• Execute production/support tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• Support and mentor teams through design implementation and deployment of solutions using relevant technologies.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Identify and influence opportunities to improve overall architecture to adapt and grow with changing business needs.
• Facilitate engineering discussions with business stakeholders data analysts data scientists product managers designers and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Own and lead the design of new features

Como Ingeniero Senior de Desarrollo de Software en el equipo deberás :

• Diseñar implantar y asumir la propiedad de canalizaciones de datos y productos de datos de misión crítica.
• Colaborar con varios equipos internos (plataforma producto otras partes interesadas) para determinar el alcance y entregar herramientas que garanticen la facilidad de uso del sistema.
• Revisar cuidadosamente las especificaciones diseños pull requests y proporcionar feedback constructivo/útil.
• Escribir código de alta calidad refactorizar y optimizar el código para mejorar la escalabilidad el rendimiento y la legibilidad.
• Integrar nuevos marcos bibliotecas tecnologías y componentes en el código base.
• Registrar/recopilar y revisar métricas de forma proactiva supervisar alertar y resolver problemas rápidamente.
• Garantizar la coherencia y la capacidad de mantenimiento de las aplicaciones existentes respetando las normas y los procedimientos de aplicación de soluciones técnicas.
• Ejecutar tareas de producción/soporte de acuerdo con un calendario documentado que cumpla o supere las expectativas del cliente.
• Apoyar y orientar a los equipos en el diseño la aplicación y el despliegue de soluciones utilizando las tecnologías pertinentes.
• Tutorizar a ingenieros junior.
• Identificar e influir en las oportunidades de mejora de la arquitectura general para adaptarse y crecer con las cambiantes necesidades empresariales.
• Facilitar debates de ingeniería con las partes interesadas del negocio analistas de datos científicos de datos gestores de productos diseñadores y otras partes interesadas para comprender las necesidades del negocio y traducirlas en requisitos técnicos.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico but preferably in Mexico City as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience performance and location.

Who you are

• A degree (BS) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 5 years of experience with building and maintaining data-intensive applications
• Experience developing complex software systems scaling to millions of users with production quality deployment monitoring and reliability
• Experience with modern data technologies (Spark Flink Kafka Airflow)
• Strong background in Java or Python
• Excellent interpersonal skills and passionate about collaborating across organizational boundaries

Nice to have:

• Experience working with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience with Databricks
