Job Summary:
The IT Consultant will support the Digital Health Standards (DHS) Program focusing on FHIR standards and terminology to advance the Patients before Paperwork project. This role involves requirements gathering documentation partner engagement and the development/validation of HL7 FHIR artifacts to reduce administrative burdens on frontline providers.
Location: Toronto Ontario Canada
Responsibilities:
- Conduct requirements gathering and develop documentation including presentations and briefing notes.
- Engage with partners and subject matter experts from clinical business and technical backgrounds.
- Gather document and analyze business needs and requirements from business partners and subject matter experts.
- Develop and document HL7 FHIR artifacts and supporting documentation.
- Validate troubleshoot and problem-solve HL7 FHIR artifacts.
- Confirm HL7 FHIR requirements related to different streams of work.
- Provide support related to Referrals/Consults/Central Intake Provincial Health Service Directory (PHSD) and Forms (eForms).
- Collaborate with the Digital Health Standards Program on specification development and maintenance standards orientation walkthrough of specifications testing support and consultation with other partners.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 10 years of extensive knowledge and understanding of digital health standards including HL7 FHIR and clinical terminologies (e.g. SNOMED-CT LOINC).
- 10 years of healthcare experience within Canada in acute care primary care and/or community care settings.
- 10 years of extensive knowledge and understanding of pan-Canadian digital health standards and tooling.
- 10 years of hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR tooling including Simplifier HL7 Validator Forge or FHIR Shorthand.
- Hands-on experience with JSON and XML.
- Hands-on experience implementing HL7 FHIR standards and solutions.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong partner engagement skills.
- Time management skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
