Job Description:
- The Security Site Representative is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of personnel property and infrastructure at a utilities facility.
- This role involves monitoring access points conducting patrols enforcing site-specific protocols and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the facility verifying credentials of employees contractors and visitors.
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises to ensure physical security and deter unauthorized activity.
- Respond to alarms emergencies and incidents according to established procedures.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities incidents and observations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement emergency responders and internal teams when necessary.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras badge readers and communication devices.
- Participate in site-specific training and emergency drills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or law enforcement training preferred.
- Valid security guard license (if required by state or local regulations).
- Prior experience in security law enforcement or military preferred.
- Familiarity with utility infrastructure and critical site protocols
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and observational skills.
- Must be able to stand walk and patrol for extended periods.
- Valid drivers license may be required depending on site duties.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of access control systems and emergency response procedures.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g. NERC CIP OSHA).
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage disruptive behavior.
- Attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
