Job Category: 3 Technicians
Position Summary
The Anesthesia Tech assists anesthesia staff in the delivery of anesthesia to surgical patients assists with anesthesia materials management and performs housekeeping and transporting duties.
Essential Functions
-Maintains storeroom in a neat and orderly fashion.
-Assists the anesthesia staff in the delivery of anesthesia to surgical patients.
-Cleans and maintains anesthesia equipment.
-Restocks anesthesia carts between cases.
-Maintains inventory of anesthesia supplies and equipment and reorders as needed.
-Assists in setting up each OR for the day for anesthesia.
-Transports inpatient surgical patients to and from the Surgical Department.
-Documents appropriate data as required by department.
-Assists in putting up supplies received from Purchasing.
-Assists in preparing operating rooms for subsequent cases.
-Assists with transporting turning and positioning patients.
-Performs general housekeeping duties as requested.
-Assists in terminal cleaning of OR rooms monthly.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-One year of Housekeeping and/or transporting experience preferred.
-One year of experience working in an Anesthesia department or with Anesthesia equipment preferred.
Education
-High School diploma or GED preferred.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire date.
