The CPU/FPGA Commodity Manager at NetApp will be critical in impacting NetApps gross margin performance and influencing NetApps storage technology roadmap and sourcing this role with high executive visibility the CPU/FPGA commodity manager will lead the procurement of NetApps highest spend commodity. The CPU/FPGA Commodity Manager will be working closely with Engineering Product Management Supply Chain and Finance teams to generate sourcing/procurement strategies that are aligned with NetApps broader corporate goals while also considering the complex dynamics related to the technology requirement of the storage market and supply base.

Job Requirements

The CPU/FPGA commodity manager will:

  • Manage the CPU/FPGA supply base; including owning the supplier relationships with both current and perspective suppliers ensuring appropriate executive engagement and executing daily and cyclical operational activities entailed with the CPU/FPGA commodity.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the CPU/FPGA market and its supply base. The individual should be able to generate point of views on vendors and market trends.
  • Hold a technical understanding of CPU/FPGA technologies to derive the relationship between roadmap choices and business outcomes.
  • Craft sourcing & procurement strategies by collaborating with Product Management Engineering Supply Chain and Finance teams and working through competing priorities.
  • Influence internal and external engineering product management and marketing teams on roadmap decisions to target NetApp business-critical needs such as supply continuity and competitive cost structures.
  • Capable of presenting and proficiently communicating with executives including C-Staff regularly.
  • Conduct cost and volume analysis considering complex tradeoffs and highlighting risks to generate recommendations on multi-million dollar purchases.
  • Negotiate best-in-class pricing and legals terms via agreements such as MSA/MPA SOW LTA LOA NDA IP Dev Agreements.
  • Be the expert for commercial items with your suppliers and products they sell and/or could sell to NetApp.

Education

  • Supply Chain Management Procurement or Engineering equivalent technical degree. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement for a technology company or account management/marketing working for a leading memory/storage semiconductor company is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is strong analytically is a master negotiator possesses practical communication skills and works well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated track record working with key suppliers in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record of complex problem solving that required strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Highly skilled with PowerPoint and Excel. Power BI is a plus.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 153000 - 227700 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidates location qualifications experience and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards reflecting a variety of factors and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance Life Insurance Retirement or Pension Plans Paid Time Off (PTO) various Leave options Performance-Based Incentives employee stock purchase plan and/or restricted stocks (RSUs) with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws regulations and company policies.
