Job Description:

Job title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Ludgate Hill London or Newton Aycliffe (Hybrid)

Salary: Between 55000 - 65000 DOE

Your new role

Here at Hitachi Rail we have a unique opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer who will provide technical support for all IT Infrastructure related services including Servers Infrastructure applications VMware ESXi& vcenter Citrix Trellix Ivanti & Zscaler ZIA & ZPA.

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will also utilise technical skills and experience to resolve new or unforeseen problems support the Infrastructure team on Incident problem management and change management of related activities as well as deployment of security updates and fixes to all servers and infrastructure components to mitigate security vulnerabilities in order to maintain cyber security compliance.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Using Tenable one/Nessus Manager reports to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities

• Hardening activities to ensure server and infrastructure base applications comply with Cyber security policies and in line with cyber essentials certification

• As a secondary responsibility there are opportunities to assist infrastructure team in related activities such as DHCP DNS Zscaler ZIA & ZPA monitoring asset management Cisco networking firewall administration mitel telephony and many more

• Work with other colleagues group company services and third-party providers to ensure business services are delivered in a timely and reliable manner

• To be aware of and actively promote and implement Hitachis ethos culture and values.

• To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required

• Occasional travel to other company sites to assist in problem resolution as required and deployment of New hardware installations or upgrades.

About you

Essential

• Strong Interpersonal skills ability to communicate to business managers

• Experience in providing support for Infrastructure systems in a multi-site organisation (> 500 persons)

• Good experience of supporting patching and administration of windows servers in an enterprise environment

• Experience in supporting hardware virtualisation particularly VMWare.

• Experience in of supporting of products such as Trellix security Microsoft SCCM Ivanti security controls

• Experience in supporting Citrix products including Citrix cloud VDAs and VDIs

• Working knowledge of zScaler ZIA ZPA branch connectors

• Good understanding of Microsoft Group policies DHCP DNS and DFS

• Good understanding of IP networking

Desirable

• MCSE or Windows server Hybrid Administrator

• Azure Fundamentals AZ900

• Experience in supporting Redhat Linux servers

• Experience of working with Cisco switches

• Experience of supporting Fortigate firewalls creation of firewall rule VPNs DMZs etc

• Experience of Cisco WIFI technologies

• Experience of working with Azure and AWS
