Job Description

SUBJECT: AFTER-SCHOOL ROBOTICS TEACHERS - ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (TITLE IV)REPORTS TO: PROGRAM COORDINATORThese positions are accountable for the implementation of curriculum and monitoring of student progress for the after school robotics program in an individual school. To engage students in an authentic STEM program that also promotes teamwork and critical thinking. WPS teachers will attend one professional development session recruit and supervise/support students for the program and implement the robotics and engineering (2) West Tatnuck (1) Thorndyke (2) Midland (2) Woodland (1) Lakeview (2) Grafton St (2) Heard (2) Tatnuck (2) Nelson Place (2) Columbus Park (2) WAMS (2) Worcester Dual Language (2) Lincoln St (1) Clark (1) City View (2) Belmont (2) Roosevelt (1) Norrback (2) Jacob Hiatt (2) May St (1) Elm Park (2) Wawecus (2) Gates Lane (2) Chandler El (2) Burncoat Prep (1) Vernon Hill (1) Union Hill (2) Canterbury (2) Rice Sq (2) Goddard (1) Flagg St (2) North High School (1) Doherty High School (1) South High School (1) Worcester Technical High School (1)Dates/times/schedule:PD week of October 6 2025. (specific date to be determined) Start date with students - Week of 10/13/2024. End Date - Week of 3/16/2024 One or two days per week 2 hours after dismissal for a total of 28 hours for students to build robots. One additional date for an offsite tournament- date and location TBD. Weekly sessions TBD after consulting with the robotics teacher and program :Candidates with VEX IQ Robotics experience in the WPS afterschool program preferred.
