What this job involves:

The General Facilities Engineer supports operation inspection and maintenance processes for mechanical HVAC electrical and plumbing equipment and other building systems. You will work as part of an engineering team of 4 at a 60000 square foot state-of-the art museum in Atlanta GA. This position requires the General Facilities Engineer to be on-site.

Schedule: May include both weekday and weekend shifts on-call rotation and coverage of after-hours events as needed

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform routine building maintenance
  • Support preventive maintenance activities for all building systems
  • Execute daily weekly and monthly preventive maintenance tasks
  • Respond to work orders from building occupants
  • Prioritize and complete repairs to minimize visitor impact
  • Document maintenance activities and update Corrigo work order system
  • Maintain inventory of common repair parts supplies and materials
  • Maintain organized storage areas for parts and materials
  • Manage tool inventory and ensure proper maintenance of equipment
  • Track usage of supplies and provides recommendation on reorder levels
  • Coordinate with other engineering staff on complex repairs
  • Assist HVAC Engineer with routine maintenance tasks and equipment repairs
  • Complete all mandatory safety training as required
  • Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of related work experience especially in repair maintenance HVAC plumbing electrical or carpentry in a commercial setting
  • Trade school education union training military service or college is desirable
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Excel Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
  • Ability to frequently climb bend kneel lift and/or drive
  • Strong customer service skills
