Job Summary
The music teacher is responsible for providing a success-oriented musical experience for middle school students and 2.9-KI students. The teacher will provide instruction to students with skills needed to become successful musicians in their own right. The music teacher will also develop and work with the school should demonstrate a strong classroom/learning environment and management skills using boundaries and rules to promote students self-management and responsibility. The music teacher is an adult role model for students and middle school curriculum is based on previously taught elementary school music education. It includes music theory and the history of music through the time ages. The music teacher is responsible for creating lesson plans for classroom instruction administering tests and assigning homework and projects to students. Professionals in this field should have a Bachelors Degree in music education or a Bachelors Degree in elementary education with a minor in music.
