Location: Isleta Elementary School Isleta Pueblo NM (near Albuquerque)
Contract Term: September 22 2025 September 21 2026 (with option years)
Type: Contract On-Site 960 hours per year (approx. 3 days/week)
About the Opportunity
The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is seeking a dedicated licensed Speech Language Pathologist to provide services for K6 students at Isleta Elementary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students educational growth language development and communication skills while working in a culturally rich school community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with IEPs.
- Conduct evaluations screenings and re-assessments.
- Participate in IEP MDT and Eligibility Determination meetings.
- Develop therapy plans aligned with student goals.
- Maintain documentation progress reports and service logs in compliance with federal and school requirements.
- Provide compensatory and extended school year (ESY) services as needed.
- Collaborate with educators and families to support student success.
Minimum Requirements
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current New Mexico SLP license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Must pass a federal background check prior to starting.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with Native American students and families.
Contract Details
- Hours: Estimated 960 annually (3 days/week 8 hours/day across 40 weeks).
- Period of Performance: Base Year with two 1-year renewal options.
- Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate (all-inclusive: wages travel lodging if applicable).
