Job Summary
- Help young Australians to improve their long-term educational outcomes
- Temporary part-time position (22.5 hrs per week) until June 2028
- Located at the Child and Parent Centre in Westminster WA
Child and Parent Centres provide a range of coordinated accessible and integrated high quality early childhood programs. The Centre is located on site at Westminster Primary School and links with other primary schools in Mirrabooka Nollamara and Westminster.
About the role
This role supports the delivery of services through the Child and Parent Centre ensuring consistent and high-quality support for parents carers and children from birth to 8 years with a focus on children birth to 4 years. The role includes providing evidence-based support for parents planning and delivering community and early learning programs evaluating their effectiveness and engaging with key stakeholders to strengthen connections and collaboration.
Reporting to the Child and Parent Centre Manager we are seeking a Senior Program Coordinator Parenting and Early Years with a passion for supporting children and families to work alongside dedicated and passionate team members to:
- Work with the Centre team develop plan and evaluate the implementation of early years programs including playgroups ensuring linkage with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Build and maintain positive relationships with Department of Health service providers located within the Centre and agencies delivering programs within the Centre
- Plan and schedule the delivery of internal and external programs groups and services based on emerging community needs
- Build and maintain successful relationships with school leadership teams and school staff at host and partner schools and with external family support agencies
- Build and maintain relationships with children and carers and provide early intervention referrals and support as required
- Work with the team and local community to develop implement and evaluate the strategic plan for the Centre

- Experience working with children and families from culturally diverse backgrounds and respect for different cultural practices and values
- Knowledge and experience in delivering evidence-based parenting strategies especially those that support early parenthood and family-centered practice
- Experience in building partnerships with local stakeholders to develop deliver and support early childhood initiatives
- A sound understanding of early childhood development including key milestones in social emotional cognitive and physical growth
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with parents children and multidisciplinary teams
