POSITION SUMMARY
Quality Coordinator will assist in the collection and analysis of data on Facility performance incidents and documentation to ensure provision of quality care. Assists in the development and delivery of Performance Improvement Risk Management and Staff Development activities throughout the assigned Facility to ensure that all state federal and TJC standards for care are consistently met. Assists in investigating incidents as needed. Performs a wide range of activities to facilitate healthcare quality regulatory compliance risk management and Patient Advocacy services for the Facility and the effective implementation of customer service initiatives provided by the Facility. Ability to effectively handle a wide variety of processes and tasks as delegated by the Director of Quality. Must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Reviews all patient family or other written concerns regarding the Facility staff and/or program according to policy.
- Organizes and prepares materials for various meetings as required.
- Presents on the Facility Quality Improvement program at new employee orientation and annual competency completion.
- Inputs Quality Net MHO AMP and State data monthly semi-annually annually or as needed for the assigned location
- Audits charts for deficiencies and provides education on compliance as needed reports trends to QD.
- Collects incident reports; records analyzes investigates data and reports to QD.
- Assist QD with projects that improve care for all patients across facilities.
- Performs safety rounds on the units to identify risks and safety concerns to correct on site and reports these to QD and Safety Committee.
- Assists in ensuring hospital meets all regulatory standards including TJC Medicare state and federal laws.
- Assists in regulatory survey preparation and survey management including Systems Readiness Assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in a health-related field preferred
Licensure:
- Clinical license preferred
Experience:
- 3 years experience in a healthcare facility previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
Other:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to analyze complex information and use problem solving skills to determine appropriate solutions.
- Previous quality and patient advocacy experience preferred; strong customer service experience required.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

- Demonstrates ability to listen to patient/customers regarding problematic issues in in a non-defensive manner.
Accountability:
- Adheres to attendance requirements. Utilizes correct procedure for taking time off.
- Attends departmental and staff meetings as required.
- Is accountable and shows pride in work; strives to do more than the minimum required.Shows initiative and completes work in a timely and accurate manner.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND SPECIAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit and stand (one-third of the shift) and walk (two-thirds of the shift).
- Ability to reach above or below waist height kneel bend stoop turn and twist (occasionally to frequently).
- Ability to see well enough to read charts treatment plans and typewritten materials.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry.
- Ability to manipulate small and large tools (telephone paper punch staplers copy machine etc.)
- Ability to work at a rapid pace and perform a variety of repetitive duties.
