Job Description:
Responsible for managing tool inventory maintaining and organizing tools and equipment and ensuring that the tool room operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial to supporting our production and maintenance teams by ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment readily available.
Essential Functions:
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all tools and equipment track usage and conduct regular inventory checks to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Tool Maintenance: Inspect maintain and repair tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Arrange for external repairs if necessary.
- Organization: Keep the tool room clean organized and compliant with tool and FOD control requirements. Label and store tools in an orderly manner for easy access.
- Issuing and Receiving: Issue tools and equipment to staff as needed and ensure that all items are returned in a timely manner. Record the issuance and return of tools in the tool management system.
- Kitting: Assist in kitting new tools and equipment as needed working within policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all tool room operations including check-in/check-out logs maintenance records and inventory reports.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and guidelines within the tool room. Train staff on the proper use and handling of tools and equipment.
- Support: Provide support to the production and maintenance teams by ensuring they have the tools necessary for their tasks. Facilitate tool usage and provide technical assistance if required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving tool room processes and efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Technical certification or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime if necessary.
- Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require physical effort.
- Hands on computer experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proven experience in a tool room warehouse or inventory management role. Experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment is preferred.
