Description of the Role
We are currently seeking reliable and experienced Drivers to join our team at ATC Nassau County. As a Driver you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and passengers to their destinations. Position also requires DSP/Paraprofessional services. Full-time and Part-time needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate various vehicles including cars and vans to transport goods and passengers
- Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods and passengers
- Load and unload cargo as required
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle
- Assisting and providing in-classroom support for students
- Collect data such as goals outings and progress notes.
- Complete all required training and attend staff meetings.
- Complete incident reports as necessary
- Perform other DSP functions daily including providing paraprofessional coverage in classroom
Requirements
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience as a driver
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ParaProfessional (DSP) qualifications and experience including:
- AMAP and SCIP certified are preferred.
- 6 months or more of caregiving experience
- Experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
