Job Description

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter to play a pivotal role in driving the continued growth and success of SGX Index Edge. Since its inception in 2015 SGX Index Edge has built a strong reputation as a global index solution provider serving investment banks asset managers and ETF issuers worldwide. The successful candidate will lead the Index Development team for the APAC business with responsibility for index research and development. This strategic role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise and launch new iEdge indicescovering the full lifecycle from idea generation and simulation to index construction analytics and commentary. The individual will be instrumental in expanding the adoption of iEdge indices across structured products and ETFs in Asia combining commercial acumen with hands-on execution to deliver meaningful impact.

Job Responsibilities

Formulate articulate and execute strategic objectives and projects to drive growth in the APAC region with a focus on developing and launching new index strategies across themes and asset classes.
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of index development from idea generation and simulation to index construction analytics scenario analysis and commentary.
Collaborate with stakeholders to present proposals scenario analyses and thematic content tailored to both institutional and retail audiences.
Write and maintain detailed index methodologies ensuring compliance with industry regulations and alignment with stated objectives.
Guide the operations team to ensure the successful ongoing management and governance of new indices.
Analyse and interpret large datasets across markets to build indices that meet client and business objectives.
Stay abreast of industry trends particularly in asset management ETFs ESG and climate investing to inform product strategy and innovation.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience in index product development management or research with an index provider or investment bank.
  • Demonstrated strategic and commercial mindset with a track record of defining and delivering core initiatives in the financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to resolve complex non-standard problems efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Python and advanced MS Office skills; experience with data vendors (e.g. Refinitiv FactSet Bloomberg) is essential.
  • Deep understanding of index strategies corporate actions and regulatory and governance processes related to financial indices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with sophisticated clients and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ESG and climate investing is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail a sense of urgency in resolving issues and a proactive approach to client queries.
  • Advanced degree in STEM Finance or Economics is preferable.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) is an advantage as the role involves interaction with Chinese speaking clients and partners.
