Description

We are seeking a skilled and analytical individual to join our Human Resources department as a principal level planning analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support by collecting analyzing and interpreting complex data related to our workforce providing actionable insights to improve HR strategies processes and decision-making.


Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at 625 South 4th Avenue Minneapolis MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position you will:
  • Gather analyze and interpret HR data from various sources including employee records surveys and performance metrics.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations that summarize data findings and provide recommendations for HR initiatives.
  • Identify trends and patterns in HR data such as turnover rates employee engagement levels and recruitment effectiveness benefit utilization rates workforce demographics etc.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and other visualization tools to present data in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Work closely with HR team members and other departments to support data-driven projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data by regularly reviewing and validating data entries.
  • Implement and adhere to data security protocols to protect sensitive employee information.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes through data analysis and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training and support to HR staff on data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of data analysis processes methodologies and findings.

Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelors degree in business administration public administration research methods statistics behavioral/social science public health computer science/MIS management science urban/city planning business analytics data analytics data science or a field appropriate to the area of specialization and four years or more of related experience.
    • Eight years or more of related experience.

Nice to have:
  • Experience:
    • With at least four years of experience in data analysis or a related field preferably within a human resources environment.
    • Leveraging data analysis tools such as Excel SQL and data visualization software like Tableau or Power BI.
    • Applying analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
    • Providing strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data findings to non-technical audiences.
    • Providing high-level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
  • Understanding of HR processes and metrics including employee engagement turnover and performance management.
  • Ability to utilize programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
