TITLE: NEXT STEPS COORDINATOR REPORTS TO: SPIRITUAL FORMATION TEAM LEADER Full-Time/Exempt/Salaried
PURPOSE: To create an exciting welcoming environment that encourages connection with new guests engages regular attenders and points everyone who walks through the doors of CLC toward an intentional path of discipleship in Christ. This is accomplished by building and overseeing the Next Steps volunteer leadership teams (Parking Team Greeters Welcome Team Growth Track and Vision Team) and creating a culture within these teams that facilitates personal connections drives consistent hospitality and increases intentional involvement in spiritual growth at CLC.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The Next Steps Coordinator is directly accountable for following all official and functional procedures and policies of Christian Life Center and is expected to engage in cooperative actions and relationships with the staff and congregation. On occasion you may not agree with the philosophy or procedure used but the loyalty and support of the Lead Pastor and the rest of the staff are essential.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Spiritual depth and maturity with a commitment to a Christian lifestyle and CLCs Excellence in Ministry values; demonstrated by regular attendance service and personal devotion.
- Passion for assisting in the spiritual development of people and empowering leaders.
- Positive attitude with the ability to develop high-capacity leaders and strong organizational skills to give them the freedom and oversight needed.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to multi-task and work in an ever-changing environment.
- High degree of conflict resolution skills and confidentiality.
- Comfort in and experience with implementing organizational change and launching new initiatives.
- Quick learner with proficiency in Microsoft Office Google Docs; familiarity with Planning Center or similar church management software preferred.
- Ability to work during service times and special events.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As an integral member of the Spiritual Formation Team you will work collaboratively to ensure the development of a church culture that empowers leaders and actively demonstrates care for all individuals. This is accomplished through the on-going development and implementation of a clearly communicated pathway to discipleship that is scalable and supports all individuals needsfrom guests to new believers to fully devoted followers of Christ.
GUEST EXPERIENCE & ASSIMILATION:
- Develop and champion a culture of invite that generates increased awareness of serving and growth opportunities.
- Create a concierge experience for all first-time guests with an effective plan to help them take their Next Steps.
- Recruit develop and lead the Next Steps volunteer teams (Parking Greeters Welcome Growth Track etc).
- Maintain a strong Sunday presence as a lobby point-person to welcome guests and assist with needs.
- Build and lead a sustainable strategy for Growth Track transforming guests into fully devoted disciples of Christ.
- Oversee a clear response system for all Next Step inquiries.
- Organize and execute Next Steps involvement in church-wide events.
- VISION TEAM DEVELOPMENT & OVERSIGHT:
- Recruit train and disciple Vision Team members creating a high-capacity mission-driven volunteer culture.
- Provide leadership development pipelines for Vision Team leaders equipping them to multiply influence across ministries.
- Cast vision regularly to inspire and align Vision Team leaders with CLCs mission values and discipleship pathway.
- Create systems of care and accountability for Vision Team leaders ensuring they are supported equipped and celebrated.
- Host quarterly leadership development gatherings and annual Vision Team rallies to reinforce culture and honor volunteers.
- Collaborate with ministry departments to integrate Vision Team service opportunities into church-wide initiatives.
SYSTEMS METRICS & COLLABORATION:
- Develop scalable structures for guest follow-up Growth Track and Vision Team to support growth across a large-church context.
- Track and report metrics related to guest retention Growth Track completion serving engagement and Vision Team involvement.
- Partner with other ministry leaders (Groups Mens Ministry Celebrate Recovery etc.) to ensure clear on-ramps for connection discipleship and serving.
