Job Summary
The Alexander Blewett III School of Law invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Duties include teaching scholarship and service.
Our primary curricular need is in the area of Legal Writing and related courses. Additional curricular needs include Copyright and Trademark Law Employment Law Family Law Introduction to Intellectual Property Law Insurance Law and Pre-Trial Litigation. We are committed to integrating theory with practice. Therefore practice experience in the areas to be taught is particularly valuable.
Situated in Missoula the recreational center of Western Montana the law school has a vibrant faculty and a close connection with our students the bench and the bar. Missoula is a wonderful place to live and work and is home to a wide range of renowned writers artists musicians and outdoor enthusiasts. Our mission is to prepare students for the people-oriented practice of law by integrating theory and practice in a competency-based curriculum; serve as the academic legal center in Montana; and contribute to the development of national state and tribal law and legal institutions through teaching scholarship and service. Position Details:
- Title: Assistant Professor.
- Position Type: Academic (10-month).
- Review Date: Review of applications will begin September 1 2025 and will continue until the position is filled.
- Schedule: Full-time academic year position beginning Fall Semester 2026.
- Entry Rate: $102500 annually.
