Internship details

  • Duration: 6 months

  • Start date: Jan - April 2026

  • Location: Toulouse France

  • Team: EZShield

  • Internship subject: Lidar based collision avoidance algorithm

  • Compensation: 1000 gross tickets restaurant CSE

Internship Context

This internship focuses on the safety-critical embedded control unit specifically the development of embedded software for emergency collision avoidance. Due to advancements in Lidar sensors the team needs to update the algorithms acquisition and detection methods to leverage these new sensor capabilities.

The goal of this internship is to design and evaluate a new implementation approach for the emergency collision avoidance feature to accommodate these higher performance sensors.

Missions / Responsabilities

Under the supervision of your mentor the intern will be involved in:

  • Familiarization with Lidar technologies.

  • Analysis of existing acquisition and detection algorithms identifying their limitations.

  • Designing and modeling an initial algorithm.

  • Collaborative discussion with the team to finalize the new design and architecture.

  • Developing a proof of concept for the new algorithm.

  • Testing the algorithm with our ECU in a simulated environment.

  • On-vehicle testing of the algorithm.
