Job Summary:

The IT Manager will provide leadership and coordination for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) desktop support team consisting of 11 technicians serving faculty staff and students across campus buildings and Agricultural Research Stations. This position will oversee daily service delivery ensure consistent use of IT service management processes and foster collaboration within and across cohorts of desktop support staff.

The IT Manager will be responsible for setting priorities mentoring staff and serving as the escalation point for complex technical or service partnership with the CALS IT Director and other service leaders the manager will help implement standardized tools knowledge management practices and customer service approaches that align with CALS mission of supporting teaching research and outreach.

This role requires balancing operational oversight with staff development promoting a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement to ensure CALS faculty and staff receive responsive and professional IT support.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies proposes and implements new or revised information technology operational policies and procedures
  • Evaluates existing strategy and makes recommendations to information technology leadership for program enhancement
  • Developsplans and directs staff implementation of information technology
  • Creates andmonitorsthebudget and approvesexpenditures
  • Exercises supervisory authority including hiring transferring suspending promoting managing conduct and performance discharging assigning rewarding disciplining and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Serves as the subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding information technology operations and functions

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $95000 - $115000. However final salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
