Translation Coordinator

The Translation Coordinator is responsible for producing product documentation for industrial automation solutions which are used in mission-critical environments such as oil refineries power plants and chemical facilities. The accepted candidate will be based in Singapore as part of an established team of technical communication professionals and he/she will work with stakeholders located in various geographical locations. He/she will be provided with advanced authoring tools documentation methodologies and extensive training

Responsibilities:

Reading through original material and translated material checking for translation accuracy and consistency for translation by external vendor. The language handled is Japanese/English.

Provides translation service arising from both internal translation needs and instruction manual production projects

Manage external translation vendor to ensure timely project delivery

Using content management software/translation software to utilize translation memory and add new translation memory

Liaising with Technical Writers and project leaders in instruction manual production projects.

Assist testing team in carrying out test execution of Japanese test cases

Requirements:

Diploma/Degree Japanese or Computer Science. Diploma in Translation (Japanese) or equivalent

Excellent English and Japanese translation skills

Fluency in spoken English and Japanese

Good understanding and in-depth knowledge of Japanese language/country-specific cultures for localization purposes

Experience in using more than one of the following tools:

• Adobe Acrobat
• Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Project Visio)

Excellent questioning and listening skills

Ability to understand highly technical contents
