Summary

The Chemical Engineer III role is a professional level position performing complex engineering functions on assigned or initiated programs projects or sub-projects of a specific nature by applying advanced mathematical physical science and/or engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the design and/or project/process management of new and current products programs components tools and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher level technical experts.
Develops test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests product and process capability studies quality audits product or project data reviews and other engineering evaluation work.
Prepares evaluation reports analyzes discrepancies and makes recommendations for product test equipment procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
Defines and acquires tooling gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design development production and acceptance issues.
Initiates evaluation and provide input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality reduce flowtime and enhance operational surety.
Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.
Provides mentorship advice and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.

You Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from and accredited program.
Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering analytical or related technical activities.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
United States Citizenship.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

Demonstrated analytical skills mathematical computations computer software applications and written documentation.

Experience working with or in Product Realization Teams (PRTs)
Systems Engineering Experience - knowledge of requirements compliance and verification
Experience with defect and/or predictive failure analysis
Knowledge of material sciences or materials compatibility
