Summary
The Chemical Engineer III role is a professional level position performing complex engineering functions on assigned or initiated programs projects or sub-projects of a specific nature by applying advanced mathematical physical science and/or engineering technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and/or project/process management of new and current products programs components tools and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher level technical experts.
- Develops test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests product and process capability studies quality audits product or project data reviews and other engineering evaluation work.
- Prepares evaluation reports analyzes discrepancies and makes recommendations for product test equipment procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
- Defines and acquires tooling gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design development production and acceptance issues.
- Initiates evaluation and provide input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality reduce flowtime and enhance operational surety.
- Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.
- Provides mentorship advice and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.
You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from and accredited program.
- Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering analytical or related technical activities.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
