High School Assistant Coach
Reports to: High School Head Coach
Guidance From: High School Activities Director High School Principal
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS) preferred
- Previous coaching experience and/or teaching experience preferred
Certifications & Other Requirements
- Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (must be completed once)
- Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (renewed every two years)
- Concussion in Sports What You Need to Know (renewed annually)
- Participation in high school/college athletics preferred
- Teaching assignment within the building preferred
Physical Requirements
- Good hand-eye coordination physical dexterity
- Ability to bend stoop walk talk sit
- Ability to travel between locations (e.g. fields gyms other schools)
Essential Functions & Duties
- Assist in the direction and coordination of Lennoxs interscholastic athletic programs.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to make decisions on athlete participation during practices and games (including playing time) at various levels.
- Promote a positive image of Lennoxs athletic program within the school and surrounding community.
- Operate in compliance with conference rules and state athletic association policies.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with other coaches and staff.
- Help with fundraising activities when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach Athletic Director or school administration.
Working Conditions
Climatic Environment (Indoor & Outdoor):
- Exposure to a wide range of temperatures (e.g. cold heat)
- Potential exposure to noisy conditions dust mists poor ventilation
Hazards:
- Exposure to body fluids or communicable diseases
- Travel between locations including potential hazards related to driving or walking in varying conditions
Work Year & Compensation:
- This is an extra duty/extra pay position effective for the fiscal year (July 1 June 30)
- Duties may be performed anytime during the year based on sport seasons and needs
