The Surveillance Manufacturing Engineering organization drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering services across all Raytheon product lines and functions. We are a team of innovators creators and strategists drawing inspiration from each other every day.

The Material Processing Manufacturing Engineering Department centers on development and production support assembly methods materials and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmWave products with a very heavy emphasis on cutting-edge automation and materials. You will work closely with manufacturing engineers product engineers quality engineers reliability engineers tooling engineers industrial engineers and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes process improvements and production support using established statistical process control techniques experimental designs material analysis mechanical design analysis and root cause analysis. Evaluation of materials equipment and processes (including qualification acceptance testing and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

What You Will Do

  • Support current low-volume high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment process materials and product problems. Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well-controlled processes using data-driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation.

  • Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment often requiring creative solutions for next-generation product designs.

  • Ensure processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J-STD-001 MIL-STD-883 MIL-PRF-38534 IPC etc.)

  • Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies investigating and qualifying new materials and more

  • Effective cross-functional communication of technical information

Qualifications You Must Have

  • High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • 2 year of manufacturing experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics and automated assembly equipment

  • Process development and qualification experience

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for 6 hours a day

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge of material properties or automated equipment

  • Able to work with a multi-disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues and investigation thereof.

  • Self-motivated proactive ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Power Point)

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 40000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
