We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Exams Officer to support the effective and efficient delivery of exams at our location including post-exam processing. This role serves as the primary point of contact for venues and venue supervisors on test days ensuring smooth coordination and management of venue staff and examiners. The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving risks and issues including direct communication with customers or through customer service channels.
The Exams Officer will be responsible for the secure handling of confidential materials in compliance with standards overseeing their movement and storage in the Confidential Materials Room (CMR) and ensuring all exam delivery preparations are completed before and during test days. This includes managing test day materials such as stationery uniforms banners and IT equipment. The role also involves scanning and submitting exam papers for marking processing enquiries on results and issuing certificates and results to candidates.
In addition to supporting exam delivery the Exams Officer will contribute to venue selection manage logistics for exam materials and ensure all British Council equipment is ready and available. They will monitor the performance of internal and external staff escalate issues when necessary and support continuous improvement in service delivery. The role also includes financial responsibilities such as raising purchase orders and processing invoices.
Customer support is a key aspect of this role requiring the ability to identify and escalate complex issues and proactively address incidents that may impact service delivery or customer experience. The Exams Officer will ensure compliance with business assurance standards conduct random checks on test days and support audits and performance reviews. They will follow corporate risk management procedures to safeguard the interests of the British Council and its customers.
This role requires strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and respond to changing demands. The Exams Officer may also be part of a rotational Duty Officer team providing early morning and weekend cover to support test day operations.
