About the Role:

The Marketing & Communications Director will lead the marketing function for Element U.S. Space & Defense EUSSD with demonstrated capabilities in developing and implementing marketing campaigns. This key role will analyze the EUSSDs goals and research our target audience to come up with detailed marketing plans and schedules for campaigns. They will also plan and oversee all trade show activity which includes delivering presentation sets and booth collateral along with facilitating vendor services coordination developing trade show strategies attending events and processing leads. This role is also responsible for building relationships with GMs and key SMEs from all laboratories across the enterprise. This role further encompasses providing quality control oversight on certain brand assets standardizing and improving communication efforts for the organization and leading a variety of digital marketing projects.


Primary Responsibilities:

Evaluate and develop the marketing strategy and marketing plan

Build brand awareness including laboratory positioning

Research demand for products and services competitor research

Independently execute elements of marketing strategy

Identify the companys potential customers

Compile ad campaign and other promotional effort results in comprehensive reports; present to the leadership and executive team

Plan and implement tradeshows and internal events for all labs across all industries; ensure every trade show is executed flawlessly

Gather insights from GMs and SMEs for all 6 labs to determine how best to market current and future capabilities.

Develop website content update web pages and monitor site for issues

Segments lists and stitches together email content

Oversee work from individual freelancers

Assesses digital marketing strategies conducts quality control reviews and develops new marketing initiatives and the optimization of current processes

Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations marketing advertising and other vital departments

Collaborate with other teams to identify the public voice of the brand

Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises

Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news

Write letters and other business correspondence

Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits

Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices

Coach and assist team members on improving communication skills

Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies

Promote the company on various digital platforms such as Linkedin Facebook etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in related field

8 years of demonstrated wide-ranging experience in managing a similar marketing function

Proven experience managing a marketing department and projects to completion

Past work with digital marketing forms like content marketing and social media marketing

Prior in-depth professional knowledge and experience in communications public relations advertising or other relevant industries

Hybrid role with a combination of work-from-home onsite and ability to travel to support various trade shows; up to 30% travel


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Marketing or Communications preferred

10 years of demonstrated experience in managing the marketing function

10 years of experience in communications public relations advertising or other relevant industries


Knowledge and Skills:

Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking to resolve complex issues

Proven budget management abilities

Exceptional communication abilities including writing speaking and active listening

In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence public relations advertising marketing and sales copy and social media

Professional understanding of crisis management

Cultivate strong relationships among key stakeholders across the enterprise

Digital marketing; relationship management; website management

WordPress; ClickDimensions; CRM; Google Analytics; Social Media; MS Suite

Great project management skills including time management goal setting multitasking and prioritization

Excellent attention to detail and highly responsive

Leadership abilities including training and mentorship


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
